El Bocho is a street artist from Frankfurt am Main, whose identity to this day remains a secret. He studied graphic design, before specialising in poster design. At present, he lives and works in Berlin, where also most of his street art works can be found. However, he travels and works on an international scale.
His pictures contain four different narrative strands. First, there is “Little Lucy” and her cat. Lucy torments and tortures her cat and tries to murder it constantly, but the cat always manages to survive. The works stemming from this plot are “Kittyverbot” and “Fukushima-Fisch”.
Another protagonist in Bocho’s works is “Citizen”: these are, for the most part, oversized depictions of women who originate from a big city and feel romantically connected to it. Well-known examples of these are the female characters wearing an “I miss my Plattenbau” cap.
