Prole is a British artist. He works on canvas and T-shirts. Prole is a trained screen printer. He specialises in large-scale, textile and traditional work. While he perfected this profession, art was just a hobby – until 2008. Prole became a full-time artist and completed great works. His striking and humorous artworks are usually combined with slogans and images of iconic pop culture idols such as Mickey Mouse or Kate Moss.
Prole has exhibited alongside Banksy, Goldie, Nick Walker, Eelus, Mau Mau, Stead Head and Jamie Read.
In addition to exhibitions and studio work, he has launched a series of T-shirts featuring his art. The artistic name Prole comes from the word “proletariat”, often used in George Orwell’s book “1984”. It is implied that the “proles” in that year could have created a better world, but they were only interested in movies, football, beer and the lottery, provided by the state itself. Sounds familiar?
Prole is represented by Ministry of Walls, a street art gallery.
