Wolfgang Krell is a German street artist. He works on large surfaces with acrylic, spray cans, charcoal and brushes. His writer name is Cole TWS.
He was born in Dortmund. From 2001 to 2003 Wolfgang Krell took a further education course for art teachers at the technical college in his home town.
Krell has his roots in graffiti art. He completed his first works of art as early as 1983.

In Krell’s latest work, he experimented with a mixture of stencils and spray paint, acrylic and pencil. To this day, the spray can has remained his faithful companion, albeit not his first choice of tools. In his first works in 1983, he was influenced by American graffiti. From 2005 onwards, Krell oriented himself more towards realistic painting. Weapons remain a recurring theme. They are an integral part of his art and should not be perceived as a depiction of violence, but as a metaphor and expression of rebellion.

Krell’s credo is to tell stories or put things in perspective. The stories he tells are predominantly positive. His dream is to “walk around in a small space capsule and spray space satellites, space shuttles and other space inventory technologies”.

Wolfgang Krell lives and works in Dortmund.
