Zalez was born in 1985 in Toulouse, where he also went to school. He dropped out of his art and design studies and turned fully to graffiti art and street art. As a “sprayer” he largely worked in the underground scene. The name “ZALEZ” is derived from the first letters of “Zone Agréè Libertaire Èduquée à Zapper”, a group of artists who organized wild exhibitions and happenings in the streets of Toulouse in about 2000.

The group of artists made a meteoric rise in the art scene over the course of only 4 years and had their first solo exhibition in 2008. Ever since then their work started appearing at some of the most legendary galleries around the world. In 2012 alone, Zalez’s art was exhibited at 23 gallery and museum exhibitions and at 10 major international art fairs.

Not all the works we have access to are listed in our online catalogue, so please contact us and we will gladly send you more works, in order to complete your street art collection. We are looking forward to your request.
