Ministry of Walls Street Art Gallery

Copyright – Gabrielle

Copyright is a British street artist who has been spraying for 10 years, but has spent his whole life working with art. When he was given the name Copyright in 2004, he began painting roses everywhere. In other words, one Valentine’s Day he sprayed pink roses on his girlfriend’s way to work.

His work:

He was influenced by the eclectic music and videos of Aphex Twin. In the late 90s Copyright decided to study photography and video production at his local college. Here he discovered a huge amount of art materials that he could “borrow” to create his own paintings. It was soon after he had his own Eureka moment that he realized he could turn his photos into stencils.

When his source of free supplies finally dried up, he turned to the streets as a new free canvas. It was in this very public area that his work began to attract attention, and it wasn’t long before he was exhibited for the first time in a gallery. Many years later, without any formal art education or qualification, he experimented and constantly pushed his work forward. He mixed new materials and techniques with his characteristic style and the resulting paintings were as fine arts as street art. Copyright – Gabrielle

Exhibitions:

Over the last ten years Copyright has been invited to show his work worldwide. This has included sold-out solo exhibitions in London and Tokyo and most recently his Precious Damage Show, where he sold all 50 works in 3 hours. His highly stylized work and unique style have proven their worth. With national and international collectors, including a number of celebrities and Premier League footballers.
