Francis Tucker was born in Cologne in 1964. After his studies he began to focus his work in 1995 in the style of Pop Art. In his colorful paintings there are often easy figures, which are only represented by a black line start. Moreover, the figures have the name “Tucker”.
The line, as the central design characteristic, gives his pictures their main content. An optical reference to the American artist Keith Haring, who died in 1990, seems recognizable.
But on closer inspection, it quickly becomes clear that Francis Tucker’s pictures are motionless. They are incapable of action, but leading actors who achieve a meaning in a color-intensive world. Down to the essentials with a strong expression in its totality.
